There is no need to run to the store to buy vanilla wafers when you can have Homemade Vanilla Wafers! Perfect for a banana pudding recipe, or to snack on when you are craving for something sweet!
About a year ago I had no idea Nilla wafers even existed. I'm from Brazil so now you understand why. We do not have them here.
Last year we traveled to Texas and fell in love with a Banana Pudding we had. So when we got back home we had to make it! But since here in Brazil we don't have Nilla wafers the only thing we could do was to make our own vanilla wafers.

🍪 How do you make these cookies from scratch?
I thought it would be hard to make these little buttery vanilla flavored cookies, but I was wrong. They are really easy to make!
In a nutshell, cream the butter, powdered sugar and granulated sugar until fluffy. Then mix in the milk and vanilla, stir in the flour and salt and mix until incorporated.
Using a teaspoon make small balls and put them in the baking sheet about 1 inch apart and bake for 15 to 20 minutes, or until golden brown on the bottoms and around the edges.
🥣 How to make powdered sugar at home
If you don't have powdered sugar, there is no need to run to the store. To make confectioner's sugar at home, place 1/2 cup granulated sugar in a blender and run it for 30 seconds to 1 minute.
🧺 How to store them
Once they are ready, let them cool completely on a wire rack and then you can keep these homemade vanilla wafers at room temperature in an airtight container for up to 5 days.
