Thanks for stopping by. My name is Andrea and I'm from Brazil, where I live. With my husband Luciano and our daughter Isabella I welcome you to Travel Cook Tell!
My husband jokes that we are expats living in our own country, because we tend to make recipes from other other countries and we are constantly finding ourselves struggling to adapt ingredients as many are impossible to find here (or are very expensive) - and at Travel Cook Tell I want to show that you can do without them too. Plus, we're also always planning a trip overseas!
So, here you will find our favorite recipes: American (we love American food), food inspired by our trips, recipes from places we wish to visit, Brazilian recipes, and recipes made easy - because sometimes we just want to take it easy in the kitchen. And, of course, posts that I hope will inspire you to travel to the places we have visited.
Welcome, have a seat and let us share with you the pleasures of cooking and travel!
*Please note that all photos, unless otherwise indicated, are ours, as well as the texts. If you would like to share anything from our blog, please check here how to!
About writing in English
I'm not a native English speaker and even though I feel confortable writing in English, I live in Brazil where I speak Portuguese, so I don't speak English on a regular basis.
So I already apologize for any mistakes I might make.
Feel free to correct me!
Also blogging in Portuguese
Because I speak Portuguese it seemed natural to write a blog in my own language, at Malas e Panelas. The word Malas means Suitcases and Panelas means Pots/Pans. Malas e Panelas is similar to Travel Cook Tell, but there are a few differences...
The biggest one is the language.
And although the topics are the same they are approached in different ways. Here at Travel Cook Tell I aim to reach an international audience, and at Malas e Panelas, my fellow Brazilians.
If you speak Portuguese please check Malas e Panelas. And if not, please do explore Travel Cook Tell!
But you might wonder: Why is she blogging in English now?
First, Travel Cook Tell is a great personal challenge. Also, this is an opportunity to reach a larger public, to show more people they can too cook dishes from other cuisines and inspire them to travel the world as a family! And I think this is really cool.
