I've tried many chocolate chunk cookies lately and after a lot of batches, I believe I have come up with a great recipe! Thin and chewy! And not overloaded with chocolate!
We all love cookies here at home and thankfully we all like the same kind: chewy and thin. And these ones are just like that! Perfect!
As you can see from the pictures this cookies are not overloaded with chocolate, and that's how we like it! But feel free to add some more!

This recipe makes the perfect chocolate chunk cookies: thin and chewy!
Servings 20
Ingredients
- 3.5oz (100g) unsalted butter melted
- 1/4 cup plus 2 tbsp granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup plus 2 tbsp brown sugar
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 egg
- 1 cup plus 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
- 1/4 tsp baking soda
- 1/4 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 3.5oz (100g) semi sweet chocolate cut into chunks (you can use chocolate chips if you prefer)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350F (180C). Line baking sheets with nonstick baking mats or parchment paper.
- In the bowl of an electric mixer beat the melted butter, sugar and brown sugar until creamy. Add egg and vanilla. Beat well to combine. Add half the flour and mix. Add baking powder, baking soda and salt and mix well. Add remaining flour gradually. Stir in the chocolate chunks (or chocolate chips).
- With the help of a small ice cream scoop, place dough onto prepared baking sheets. Bake for around 12 minutes, or until cookies are lightly golden brown. Cool for a few minutes and transfer to wire racks to cool completely.
Notes
If you prefer your cookies loaded with chocolate chunks, you should add more chocolate, about 1.7oz (50g).
