Creamy Polenta with Cheese and Bolognese Sauce

Learn how to make this Creamy Polenta with Cheese and Bolognese Sauce, a mouth watering dish that is ready in just 30 minutes!

We think that creamy and soft polenta with tomato sauce is the perfect example of comfort food. And to make it a heartier meal we decided to make some Bolognese sauce. The result? This amazing mouth watering dish! And best of all: it's ready in about 30 minutes!

Creamy Polenta with Cheese and Bolognese Sauce

Ingredients
  • For the Bolognese Sauce:
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 10 oz (300g) ground beef
  • 1 tbsp tomato paste
  • 1 can tomatoes
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 bay leaf
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • For the Polenta:
  • 1 cup instant polenta
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 3 cups water
  • 2 tbsp heavy cream
  • 3.5oz (100g) mozzarella cheese, diced
  • For serving:
  • Grated parmesan cheese
Instructions
  • For the Bolognese Sauce:
  • In a frying pan heat the olive oil. Add onions and garlic and cook until translucent.
  • Add the ground beef and cook.
  • Add can of tomatoes, tomato paste, water and bay leaf (or basil leaves).
  • Cook for around 20 minutes on low heat, stiring once in a while. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  • While the sauce is cooking, make the polenta.
  • For the polenta:
  • Place water, salt and instant polenta in a pan and cook according to package instructions. Add heavy cream and cheese and stir a little more.
  • Add more salt, if needed.
  • For serving:
  • In a bowl serve the polenta, cover with a generous portion of Bolognese sauce and sprinkle some parmesan cheese on top.
