This easy and delicious Chocolate Candy Pie sets up in only one hour in the fridge (or just 20 minutes in the freezer), just in time for dessert!

Chocolate Candy is very popular in Brazil, we called it Bombom. There are so many brands that I'm not sure if I know all of them. So last Easter my daughter got a big bag of Sonho de Valsa chocolate candies and even though she likes it very much, she couldn't eat the whole bag. The solution to this problem? Make a Chocolate Candy Pie 🙂

Ingredients you will need to make this Chocolate Candy Pie

  • all purpose flour
  • cocoa powder
  • baking powder
  • sugar
  • butter
  • egg
  • milk
  • sweetened condensed milk
  • vanilla extract
  • corn starch
  • chocolate candy

How to make this Chocolate Candy Pie

  • to make pie crust: preheat oven, with the help of a mixer or food processor mix all ingredients until the dough is well combined, place dough in pie pan and press it with your fingers onto the bottom and up to the sides, line pie crust with parchment paper and fill with pie weights or dried beans and bake crust for around 10 minutes, remove pie weights/dried beans and parchment paper and bake for 5 more minutes, remove from oven and let crust cool completely before adding filling
  • to make filling: place all ingredients in a pan (except candies) and over medium heat stir until mixture thickens, remove from heat, transfer to a glass bowl, cover with plastic wrap and let it cool completely
  • to assemble pie: pour filling in pie crust and sprinkle with crushed candies, place it in the fridge for 1 hour or in the freezer for 20 minutes allowing filling to firm

As you can see from the picture above this pie looks great, so it will also be perfect for a special occasion!

Tips to make this Chocolate Candy Pie

  • the chocolate candy we used is called Sonho de Valsa and it is very popular in Brazil, but you could use any other chocolate candy bar like Snickers, Twix and Reese's Peanut Butter Cups.
  • you can use the pie pan we used for this recipe, a 14 x 4.5-Inch extra long tart and quiche pan, but you could also use a 9-inch round pan with removable bottom.
