Find out some tips on what to do, eat and where to stay in Canela, Brazil!
If you visit Gramado you'll go to Canela as well. Why? They are just a few kilometers apart from each other and for many people, they are considered one destination!
Well, but each one has its own peculiarities and places to be seen. So today I'd like to share some tips on what to do, eat and where to stay in Canela!
Places to Visit
Caracol State Park: be in contact with nature in this beautiful park with trails and this incredible waterfall.
Bondinho Canela: this lift (entrance very close to the Caracol State Park entrance) you'll give the best view of the Caracol waterfall.
Castelinho Caracol: the name means Caracol Little Castle, this old house is a nice stop on your way to Caracol State Park. It's a small museum and tea room. There you can taste a delicious apple strudel and apple and cinnamon tea!
Downtown: it's not as charming as Gramado, but you'll find many stores, restaurants, cafés, chocolate stores and the Stone Church.
What to eat
Just like Gramado, you'll find fondue and café colonial restaurants. But there are other things to eat. We love having lunch at Empório Canela, a bookstore/café with delicious food.
To eat macarons and other French treats, visit Holic.
Where to stay
Options include Pousada Cravo e Canela (pousadas are like inns, with charming decoration and a more personal service), Pousada Doce Canela and Vila Suzana Parque Hotel. For more hotels in Canela click here. Just like Gramado, Canela hotels are known for having amazing breakfast buffets. Plan for a late lunch!
I hope you found these travel tips from both Gramado and Canela useful! Have a nice trip!
