The first post about Santiago, Chile, a city that we love, is about our favorite neighborhood . Actually it’s a specific part of Las Condes, around Plaza Peru.
This region is full of good hotels (we have already stayed at Atton El Bosque and Plaza El Bosque Suites – plus, W Santiago is right in front of Plaza Peru), nice restaurants, cafés and coffee houses (you can find Starbucks, Juan Valdez, Confiteria Torres, Coquinaria, Nolita, Tiramisú, among many other options).
It’s close to El Bosque Norte Avenue, not far from 2 subway stations (El Golf and Tobalaba) and surrounded by charming streets.
About Plaza Peru itself. It is a square, with a very nice playground area full of activities for all ages.
The shaded benches and the nice grass give you a nice place to rest, specially in summer. And on Sundays it hosts a small Antiques Fair.
It’s a great part of the city and nowaydays we don’t consider staying anywhere else. Isabella even calls Plaza Peru “my square”. She loves this place and we enjoy it not only during the day but at nighttime too.
Something curious: Santiago is full of street dogs and they are big, beautiful, clean (we think people take care of them) and friendly. This one from the picture above invited us to play with him and his ball. And when we left he didn’t feel bad and decided to have fun with some other people that stayed there 🙂
Well, have you ever been to Santiago, Chile? Where is your favorite spot?
