A friend said she was going to Buenos Aires with her family and asked us for some tips. Then we thought: why not turning these tips into a post?
This is far from a travel guide, it’s just some ideas and suggestions for a very nice (according to me and my family) stay in Buenos Aires!
Where to Stay?
These are the 3 hotels we stayed with Isabella and recommend all of them:
Ayres de Recoleta: with a mini kitchen, great for light meals “at home”. And they serve breakfast in your room. It’s in the most famous and touristy area of Recoleta.
Howard Johnson Hotel Boutique Recoleta: Great room, but with the worst location of these 3, but still good.

What to do?
Museo de los Ninos: it’s at Abasto Mall. It’s a great attraction if you are traveling with kids. Museo de Los Ninos is an interactive children’s museum. The whole museum is like a small city where kids shop at the supermarket, pretend they work at McDonald’s, build buildings, work at a gas station and much more. Highly recommended!
Playgrounds: our favorite is the one on Plaza Vicente Lopez.
Zoo: You can feed zebras and lhamas in a relatively small zoo, which is great. It’s also in the middle of the city. Very close to the zoo is the Rosedal, a beautiful rose garden, the Jardín Japonés (Japanese Garden) and Floralis Generica.
Malba: a great opportunity to get to know a little about Latin American art.
Puerto Madero: it’s a remodeled area of Buenos Aires full of great restaurants. We love going there! A nice attraction for kids is Fragata Sarmiento (Sarmiento Frigate), a warship that is now a museum, right in the midddle of Puerto Madero.
Where to eat?
1810 Cocina Regional: we went to the one in Palermo, which is a good option for families with children.
Where to shop?
We don’t go Buenos Aires to shop but we always visit these stores: Morph, with a lot of things for the home, Perfumum Bue with body, bath and home fragrances that we love and Isadora, great for affordable women accessories.
Of course Buenos Aires has much more to offer but I’m sure these tips will help you plan your trip to this beautiful city!
