Thanks for stopping by! My name is Andrea. With my husband Luciano and our daughter Isabella we welcome you to Travel Cook Tell!
Here you will find:
- Our favorite recipes: Brazilian (we live in Brazil), American (we love American food), food inspired on our trips, recipes from places we wish to visit and recipes made easy.
- Posts that will inspire you to travel to the places we love, always with a focus on family travel.
Welcome, have a seat and let us share with you the pleasures of cooking and travel!
Why Travel Cook Tell?
First, why Travel?
We love traveling and we want to tell you how cool it is to travel with kids and show them the world. Of course we also know that traveling includes a lot of preparation, planning and concerns and we love to talk about these subjects as well.
This explains the Travel part. What about Cook?
We travel more than we can afford but much less than what we would like to and a way to minimize this problem is in our kitchen. Missing Paris? Let’s make a delicious butter and sugar crepe! Hungry for an American Breakfast? Why not cooking pancakes, sausages and scrambled eggs? And, oh, Budapest! Not a problem, we can make a yummy Goulash! But our cooking is not only about that, we also love to taste things from our childhood, treats we learn from our friends, something special that we know Isabella will love and much more. And one very important thing you should know about me: I like things easy, so many times, I’ll turn a classic into an easy to make dish!
And, last but not least, Tell…
That’s what I’m doing here, telling you all about our favorite places around the world and favorite foods from our kitchen. But please, don’t expect a novel, specially in each recipe. I don’t like reading long posts (even from my favorite blogs), so I keep my posts short. But they will always have information I consider important, either on a recipe I wish you try at home or from a place I want to inspire you to visit!
*Please note that all photos, unless otherwise indicated, are ours, as well as the texts. If you would like to share anything from here, please link back!
About writing in English
I’m not a native English speaker and even though I feel confortable writing in English, we live in Brazil where we speak Portuguese, so I don’t speak English on a regular basis.
So I already apologize for the mistakes I might make.
Feel free to correct me 😉
Also blogging in Portuguese
Because we speak Portuguese it seemed natural to write a blog in our own language. That’s why in April 2012 we started Malas e Panelas. The word Malas means Suitcases and Panelas means Pots/Pans. Malas e Panelas is similar to Travel Cook Tell, but there are some differences…
The biggest one is the language 🙂
And although the topics are the same they are approached in a different way, not thinking about the Brazilian public but an international audience.
And while at Malas e Panelas the main focus is travel, here at Travel Cook Tell, I talk more about cooking.*We have recently launched a new blog in Portuguese called Do Café ao Jantar (it means “From Breakfast to Dinner”) where we share recipes only .
If you speak Portuguese please check Malas e Panelas and Do Café ao Jantar. And if not, have fun with us here at Travel Cook Tell!
But you might wonder: Why is she blogging in English now?
First, Travel Cook Tell is a great personal challenge. Also, this is an opportunity to reach a larger public, so more people will learn our recipes and our tips about traveling around the world as a family! And I think this is really cool 😉
